Amazon Main Video Over the Size Limit? Three Quality Levels to Get Compliant

Amazon sets a soft size ceiling on main product videos, and phone footage routinely comes out at 100MB+. Half the time the upload just fails. Rather than re-uploading again and again, compress once before you list.

Compression is a trade-off between resolution and quality tier: 720p at medium quality balances detail-page looks and file size. If your source is 1080p at high bitrate, dropping to 720p usually cuts the size by more than half.

Do it with a local video compressor running in the browser on ffmpeg - the file never leaves your device. Product videos often contain unpublished sourcing and sample footage, and zero upload means zero leak risk.

If the result isn't MP4 (H.264), normalize it with a format converter for the widest compatibility. Both steps together usually take under a minute.
